Talking to Your Grocer

Don't be afraid to tell your local grocer that you'd like to see more GE-free products in the store, and labelling of GE products. Let them know that you are buying such products intentionally, and more will appear over time.

 

The Big Grocery Chains

Don't be afraid to talk to the managers at big chain grocery stores as well! They may have more power over what is on the shelves than you think. But you may want to contact someone in central administration about your concerns as well. The best methods are to write a letter or make a phone call, with emails being less effective but still important.

Loblaw Owners of President's Choice,Real Canadian Superstores, a range of other grocery stores (all have PC products in them), and a family of related companies. Real Canadian Superstores are infamous for their refusal to stock products that are labelled 'GE-free' while creating their own organic line of products.

Safeway 1,700 stores in North America, also under the names Vons, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Genuardi's, and Carrs.

Save On Foods / Overwaitea The Overwaitea Food Group also owns Urban Fare, Cooper's Foods, Price$mart Foods and Bukley Valley Wholesale stores.
